For the building trades, a condition for admission to the course on craft theory is that you have one year?s practice after your qualifying examination.

The Master Craftsman Scheme and Mesterbrevnemnda [the Master Craftsman Certificate Committee]
The act relating to master craftsman certificates in the trades and other industries of 1986 establishes the framework for the master craftsman certificate. This act stipulates that only a person awarded the master craftsman certificate is entitled to call himself "a master craftsman".
The Ministry of Trade and Industry appoints the Master Craftsman Committee, which administrates the scheme.
The Master Craftsman Committee determines the requirements that shall be made to training and practice for obtaining a master craftsman certificate, and awards the certificate.
In the event of breaches or acts of gross negligence the committee may withdraw the right to use the master craftsman title. The Master Craftsman Committee decides which subjects shall be included in the scheme.
An important part of the committee?s work is to spread information about the master craftsman scheme. In its marketing directed at consumers, an important aspect is underlining that the master craftsman certificate represents security and quality.
The master craftsmen will also regularly be offered profiling articles and information about the development of the scheme, among other things in Mester?n [a master craftsman journal]. Through the master craftsman programme, new recruitment will also be secured.
Any questions? Contact Mesterbrev for further information.
